Our Story
Nuanbao means something like “warm little treasure”. It started as a name for the blankets one of us knitted for nieces and nephews, and it stuck.
We are a very small team: two knitters, one finisher and a lot of yarn. We work from a shared studio and knit everything in small batches, so we can keep an eye on every seam and every button.
We choose fibres that are soft on new skin and easy on the planet: mulesing-free merino, certified organic cotton and bamboo viscose from audited mills. Our packaging is paper, and our offcuts become stuffing for toys.
What we will not do
- Use synthetic blends to cut costs.
- Chase trends that will look dated by next winter.
- Sell anything we would not give to our own families.
